Lots of reasons compelled us to rebuild
SEO Effect. User demand is high. We received loads of feedback from readers of my book asking for a tool set that could deal with today's SEO challenges. We were also inspired by new opportunities we saw in the new APIs from Google. And last, we wanted to capitalize on the lessons learned form the previous version of SEO Effect that now seems so "old school".
However, I was still reluctant to begin. Rebuilding an application from scratch is really a challenging task. But at the end of summer 2008, my friend, colleague at Screenborn on-line marketing, and business partner, Gerard Klein convinced me to redevelop SEO Effect.

SEO Effect has a complete new design anticipating the birth of our brand new application. We are open for subscriptions to our mailing list. Since we launched last month, more than 2000 people have joined.

The results came in from an audit of the code of the SEO Effect application. Of course some improvements were suggested but the main conclusion was that the code was tidy and pretty neat. So kudos for Leon, our main engineer for a job well done!

Alpha testing is on its way. That is great news and - not uncommon with software - it is slightly overdue. But we're happy for now. One of the things that was bugging us was the way the
AdWords API, was handling things. Depending on what you ask it can be rather slow. We are really looking forward to the new version which is rumored to become available at the and of this year. We'll see!
