Link Popularity

Link Popularity is a measure of how "popular" a web page is on the internet as measured by the number of Inbound Links pointing to your web page. Link popularity is one of the main factors used to help determine search engine rankings. Google calls its Link popularity the Pagerank of a web page. This is shown by the little green bar in the Google tool bar.

Link Popularity PageRank

Google uses the Link popularity to show the PageRank of a webpage. The PageRank is shown by the little green bar in the Google Toolbar.

Link Popularity parameters

Parameters to measure the linkpopularity are devided in quantity, quality and timeline.

Quantity

  • amount of links to a page
  • amount of links from different web domains
  • amount of links from different web domains from differetn IP classes. (exclude links hosted in the same owners network)

Quality

  • the amount of links that are hosted in websites that have the same theme
  • the Anchor text of the links
  • the page Title of the pages links
  • autority page links
  • hub page links 

Timeline

  • how older the link the better 
  • steadiness of links: are they there all time?
  • linkgrowth; is there a constant steady link growth to the page
  • and for season keywords:is the page linked lastly
