Here is our end of year present for you. This update is about a minor change with great value. Now measure the link profile of your own site and that of your competitors also at sub-domain level. If you or your competitors are using sub-domains, please read the benefit you can get with this update.
This setting determines whether the link profile of your own campaign website is tracked at the domain or sub-domain level.
There are two logical options:
- You fill in www.domain.com as campaign URL with ‘domain’ option for link profile.
- You fill in sub.domain.com as campaign URL with ‘subdomain’ option for link profile
Where do you set this up?
All existing campaigns remain on the default: domain.
If you want to put the link profile at the sub-domain level that you created after you set up the campaign under: ‘Campaigns’ > ‘Active campaigns settings’.
What is a sub-domain again?
See the following example of a default URL: Https://sub.domain.com/folder/page
The sub-domain represents the domain. In the URL https://www.domain.com, www is the subdomain. Usually you want a ‘regular’ domain name like https://www.domain.com or https://domain.com the link profile. But sometimes you want to see the link profile for only a specific sub-domain.
What modifies where?
Know what you’re doing. If you change this setting, your link profile will be changed from the time of change–not retroactively–in the following reports:
- Dashboard Inbound Links
- Link profile> own Link profile (graph and table)
- Link profile > Link Profile competition > values own campaign domain
With this update, the latest report also modifies, without additional settings, the values of any sub domain-added competitors. You can also find them on the Campaign details Settings screen under ‘competitors ‘.
Examples Impact

Note: If it doesn’t work, put it back on the default value ‘domain’!
Enter your competitors
If you’re in the process of doing so, enter your SEO ranking competitors as well. These are used in your rankings and under
