Updated Link prospect page for easier link building

SEO tool update

The link strategy section of the link bait and link building tool is getting an update in SEO Effect. In the first release — of what we think will be three — is all about the ‘link prospect page’. This where you gather all the link prospects from your link research, have it augmented with contact data and matched its links that we could find in your link profile.

We cleaned up the page to make it easier to use, translated it all to Dutch (probably not that relevant if your reading this page) and added two features to help you manage the status of each link prospect.

New functions for your link building workflow

The new functions are:

Define your own labels for contact status

So if your main link building effort involves having your team reaching out to bloggers and Twitter users, you could make labels with a status and the name of the team member managing that contact. Like: ‘new contact – Anne’, ‘active contact – Peter’ or a more generic ‘not interested’. If you are managing the contacts all by yourself you could opt for labels like: ‘new prospect’, ‘mail sent’, or ‘loyal ambassador’. Whatever suits your link building workflow!

A new note field

This note field can be pretty handy for information that you do not want to store in a contact status label. My first note was: “Wants to test the application first before writing a review. Gave some credits so he could test it full throttle. Contact again in January”. Those kind of things!

So please: try it and let us know what you think!
